There's nothing more I prefer than a good nude lip. Bold, red or colourful lips are a big no no for me. I like having something versatile which is appropriate for all types of wear from day to night that looks classy, too. Here I've brought you my current favourite lip combo which I think makes the perfect nude lip.
Mac Lip Pencil in Spice | £13
It's always better to get a slightly deeper shade lip pencil to line your lips in comparison to your lipstick, rather than exactly the same shade. This adds dimension to the lips, makes them look fuller and prevents them from looking flat. It also works as a barrier around your lipstick to prevent smudging as they are matte and generally longer lasting than lipsticks.
Mac lip pencils are affordable and really good quality. Their shade range is quite varied and they have some lovely shades, a lot of which are nude. Spice makes the perfect shade to line your lips before adding the perfect nude lipstick. Although it looks a little dark in colour, it blends together nicely once the lipstick is applied over it. Spice is one of my favourite shades to use with nude lipsticks because of its rich brown undertone, I think it would suit a variety of skin tones too.
Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in 056 Boho Nude | £6.49
The most important part of perfecting a nude lip is of course the lipstick, so getting that perfect shade for your skin tone is essential. Rimmel offer a variety of affordable and high quality shades from their Lasting Finish range that also come with very pretty packaging. Boho Nude, also with a brown undertone pairs perfectly with the lip pencil as it's a few shades lighter in a similar colour. As the finish on this lipstick is creamy, the lip liner will help to keep it in place and prevent from smearing around the edges. Again this is a very versatile nude shade which would suit a lot of skin tones as it isn't too pink. This is my current favourite nude shade which I can wear for work, dinner dates and nights out as it's so versatile depending on the makeup you put it with.
Together the shades work really well together, creating definition to the lips with a nude-brown finish. I love pairing Mac liners with Rimmel lipsticks it's a personal favourite lip combination of mine.
