The Blush Lowdown

My blush collection has began to increase lately and I've realised how underrated the product actually is. It's one of the most visually pleasing makeup products around, with pretty packaging and colours to make your inner girly self go all heart-eyed. Here are some well-known and popular picks:

If you are pale gal like myself then the blushes in the Makeup Revolution Golden Sugar 2 Palette are perfect for adding a shimmery pop of colour to the cheeks. These add a subtle radiance to the skin without being overly glittery. Priced at just £8 which also includes a couple of bronze and highlight shades, it's a bargain.

Similarly, their I Heart Blush in 'Queen of Hearts' is a good option for fair skin. The payoff is slightly more pigmented but isn't as shimmery. The packaging is cute in a card, heart-shaped box and comes in several colour variations which can be used separately or mixed together. It's also a dupe of the Too Faced Sweetheart Blush but at just £4.99.

When I'm after a more purple-toned blush to pair with berry shades then I go for the Soap & Glory Love at First Blush. The colour is rich, with a slight shimmer that's enhances the cheeks beautifully. There's no denying that the packaging is super pretty too, in a well presented, sturdy circle compact which is handy for on the go. This is priced at £11 which is well worth the money - mine has lasted me almost a year now.

For a soft and delicate blush there's nothing better than the Kiko Colour Veil Blush. The powder is super soft, sweet smelling and adds a subtle flush of pink to the cheeks. This is perfect for a natural makeup look as it blends in effortlessly on the skin with no shimmer or glitter to it. This is priced at £7.90 but Kiko frequently have sales on and can be found for as little as £2.30!

And one I tend to save for nights out or special occasions is the Benefit Rockatuer Blush. The glamorous brown-toned shade is highly pigmented and is well suited on tanned or darker skin. Benefit cheek products are very popular and it's not hard to see why when you try one. This is priced at £23.50 but features in various Benefit sets with other products for around £25.

What's your favourite blush?
