NYX Brow Products

With so many variations out there now it can be difficult to chose which eyebrow product is best suited to you. From gels to pencils NYX offer a variety of products all with different formulas which each have their own advantages and disadvantages. I've tried and tested the most popular 3 from the brand so have a good general idea of which product does what best.

Micro Brow Pencil | £7

This is a double ended precision pencil and brush which is constantly being compared to the higher end version Anastasia Beverley Hills Brow Wiz. The pencil tip is very thin making it a great tool for creating natural and precise looking brows - as well as perfecting that arch! You can also create faux eyebrow hairs by adding light strokes which again comes off really natural. The brush tool on the opposite end is firm and really softens and evens the product out in case you accidentally apply too much pressure. Saying that, you do have to use a bit of pressure with the pencil as it doesn't glide on effortlessly. This is best suited to those who prefer a more natural look.

Tame & Frame Tinted Brow Pomade | £5.50
This little pot of pomade is compared the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow which also comes in a compact jar which requires you to use an angled brush. The formula is creamy, waterproof and glides on easily, allowing you to build colour up depending on the pressure you use. Despite my swatch it actually comes off quite dark on the brows as it really grabs onto the hairs to keep in place. This is a good product for creating quick, soft brows and works well to create a faded brow too.

Eyebrow Gel | £5.50

The gel is actually a waterproof product too but is a little thicker in formula and less easy to swipe on, but once it's on it's not going to budge. This gives a nice definition of colour but can apply more unevenly if you aren't careful compared to the others, due to its thicker consistency. The good thing about using this brow gel is that you won't need to use any other product on top of it to set, as it quickly sets itself and will withstand sweat, rain and even a shower. This is the best one for bold, long lasting, waterproof brows.
